New Beginnings
In spring the world around us begins anew. In this issue of 鈥淏luffton,鈥 you鈥檒l learn about many new beginnings happening on our campus.
The most prominent new beginning is the announcement of the proposed merger with the University of Findlay. Continue learning about this proposed merger from our joint website at .
These new beginnings may yet be fully known, but they will continue to allow us to prepare our students as we follow our mission for 鈥渓ife as well as vocation鈥 and, 鈥渦ltimately, for the purposes of God鈥檚 universal kingdom.鈥

Merger makes history
鈥淗igher education faces significant challenges. These times call upon us to be innovative and forward-thinking, and I believe this merger will prove to be both.鈥

Commencement
Six states and four countries, and 16 first-generation students, were represented among the 147 bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees graduates.

Emeriti faculty
With a combined 88 years of service to 小优传媒, Perry Bush, Gary Schiefer and Deb Myers received emeritus status upon their retirement.
Coach Kim Fischer鈥檚 sister, Susan Baker, made the ceremonial first pitch following
dedication of the Kim Fischer Softball Press Box.

Their vision was to close the gap on the student鈥檚 cost of attendance, allowing the
student to complete their education with little-to-no out-of-pocket costs. The first
Diller Family Scholar crossed the Commencement stage in May.

While wrapping up his undergraduate studies at Bluffton, Karter Tow ran the Boston
Marathon.
