Criminal justice major

Graduation year: 2028
Why did you choose Bluffton?
I loved the small campus and how everyone knew each other
Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?
I picked criminal justice because I always found the topic so interesting. My classes are very helpful, and each criminal justice class I take I learn so many new things!
What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?
I am undecided but working with K-9s and/or police officers has always been on my mind. One of my career goals is to make sure I enjoy what I am doing and to work in my hometown.
Tell us about Bluffton鈥檚 faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your goals?
Each professor loves to get to know you on a personal level and what you like to do. They know your abilities so they know how to push you to be the best. Coaches push you to be your best no matter what.
What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?
I am part of the swim team, and I work the sports information job. I need to be involved and active on campus because it makes me happy seeing how lively the campus is and how everyone gets together. I wanna make campus a better place.
Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?
I am a student-athlete on the swim team. One of the best parts about being on the swim team is how close the team is. It鈥檚 like a big family.
Have you completed an internship or other hands-on learning experience? Tell us about it and what you learned from that experience.
I used to work at a coffee shop. I learned a lot of customer service experience from that. I worked at a hardware store called True Value and learned many things there. I learned more customer service, cleaning, counting drawers, building/fixing things, helping and so on. I loved working at the hardware store.
Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?
One thing that I love about Bluffton is how everyone knows everyone. One thing I will never forget is how everyone came together to help people move out of the first floor of Ropp to different rooms when it flooded. People stayed almost all night to help others.
