Meet the 2025-26 President鈥檚 Ambassadors

Lauren Leslie
Nutrition and dietetics major
Morral, Ohio
Graduation year: 2028

Why did you choose Bluffton?

I chose Bluffton not only for my sport but because of their accredited dietetics program. Along with that, I鈥檝e had friends and family attend Bluffton who only had good things to say about the school and campus. A bonus of Bluffton is the close community on campus and the proximity to my home.

Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?

I chose my major because I鈥檝e always been intrigued by health and wellness. Especially with being an athlete my whole life, I want to know how we can fuel our bodies to their fullest potential. My classes have been very interesting and helpful so far. I鈥檓 excited for my Master鈥檚 year where I get to be working with real dietitians.

What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?

Following graduation, I鈥檇 love to intern in a hospital which is considered a clinical setting. Registered clinical dietitians see a variety of patients and can alter their schedules with their patients, which I really enjoy.

Tell us about Bluffton鈥檚 faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your goals?

Bluffton鈥檚 faculty and coaches have helped me achieve and attain my goals by always being available for myself and other students. There hasn鈥檛 been a time where a professor wouldn鈥檛 help me after class, or my coach wouldn鈥檛 take the time to help me with a new skill.

What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?

I am a part of BUNA which is Bluffton's Nutrition Association along with the volleyball team. It is important for me to be active on campus because I can meet new people, set a good example on campus, and make good connections.

Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?

I am a part of Bluffton鈥檚 volleyball team. I love being a part of a team on campus because it gives you an immediate sense of community to be a part of. With this, teams on campus take part in community service and other activities such as buying gifts for those in need for Christmas.

Have you completed an internship or other hands-on learning experience? Tell us about it and what you learned from that experience.

I have yet to complete any internships or hands on experience yet, however, this summer I plan to work at my community's local hospital kitchen and learn more about my future career.

Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?

I love Bluffton for its faculty and professors. It鈥檚 great that we as students always have them as resources or people to reach out to because of our small community.
