Students discuss cross-cultural experiences
Students who participated in spring 2024 short-term cross-cultural experiences spoke during 小优传媒鈥檚 Oct. 8 Forum in Yoder Recital Hall.
Experiences included the Czech Republic, Guatemala, Washington, D.C., the Ohio River Valley, and a service experience in Kentucky/Appalachia with Mennonite Central Committee鈥檚 Appalachia Build program.
鈥淢y experience to the Czech Republic wouldn鈥檛 have been possible without Bluffton allowing me to explore a culture that is different than my own, as well as how to be a responsible global citizen,鈥 said Annie Mendenhall 鈥25, a middle childhood education major. 鈥淭he opportunity will assist me in teaching future students on how to approach different cultures with open minds, the United States global connections and a desire to learn about the past.鈥
Applications open soon for spring 2025 experiences to the Czech Republic, Chicago, Tanzania, Ecuador and Kentucky.
