The Ohio Poetry Day Association has presented the award annually since 1976 to a poet or poets on the basis of a book published in the previous year or two. The honor includes a monetary prize and an honorarium as an Ohio Poetry Day speaker. In addition, a poem from Gundy鈥檚 book will be included at the beginning of the Ohio Poetry Day 2015 prize poems collection, 鈥淏est of 2015.鈥
